Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• BSN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Idaho license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System.

Additional Details:

Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: - Must be able to read and interpret telemetry and own strips.

Special Requests: - Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. - One-off exceptions may be considered for current/previous employees, but must be approved by St. Luke’s Health System.

Unit Details: - Nurse:patient ratios are typically 1:5; occasional 1:6 very rarely happens. - Patient population includes total joints, ortho hip fractures, lumbar and cervical spine surgeries, urology procedures with CBI, general surgeries including cholecystectomies, bowel resections, and complicated mastectomies, GYN overflow including total hysterectomies, and medical overflow including COPD, some behavioral health, sepsis, and infections. - Common drips include heparin, PCAs, and morphine drips; RNs are not required to titrate drips. - Charge nurse on each shift and very rarely takes patients; day shift also has an ADT nurse to assist with admits, discharges, and tasking. - PCT support 1:8. - Uses CPAP, BiPAP (RT manages), high flow, virtual tele techs, and SpaceLab; transitioning to Philips by end of June. - Travelers may take students and may precept new travelers.

Shift & Scheduling: - 5 weekend shifts in a 6 week period. - Holiday requirement: yes, if there is a need.

Floating Requirements: - First to float. Will float between MedSurg 5 and MedSurg 6; can also float to like units in Treasure Valley, including Boise Medical Center and Nampa Medical Center, both about 8 miles away. Could also float to the ER for holds or to be a 1:1.

7 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 3 years

Driver’s license required for submission
