Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Cerner is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - Memorial Health System - IL and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Memorial Health System - IL.

• 12 months gap required between for Per Diem at Program: Aya Program - Memorial Health System - IL and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Memorial Health System - IL.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Telemetry - remote monitoring; use of rapid response teams. Colostomy care; feeding tube care and management. Pre/post hemodialysis management; renal failure. Blood product administration; central line blood draw; peripheral line care/management; PICC line management; starting IVs. Heparin, insulin, and PCA. Spinal cord injuries. Ortho trauma experience required. Experience with surgical drains required. CPAP/BiPAP; High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC); nasal cannula; non-invasive airway management; oral suctioning; oxygen face masks; portable oxygen tank; pre/post thoracic surgery; tracheostomy management. Isolation precautions; wound care/wound vac.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience: Preferred.

Special Requests: Discuss schedule requests with manager. Ideally no more than 5 days of RTO.

Unit Details: Primarily adult and geriatric patients, with occasional adolescent to younger adult patients. Cares for elective bariatric surgery, plastic surgery patients including flaps and finger reattachments, chronic wounds, general burn wound management, med/surg overflow, post-op cosmetic surgeries, and occasional post-op gynecologic surgeries. Frequent assessment of surgical skin grafts/flaps, wound care, and debridement. Work includes specialty dressing care, leeching, specialty beds, capnography, NG tube placement, ostomy care, and TPN. Uses bariatric graded lifts (Hoyer and sit-to-stand); heparin drips are used, and amiodarone and Lasix are not titrated.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. No call.

Floating Requirements: Float to other units within scope as needed.

5 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 2
