Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a California license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• COVID booster required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.

Additional Details:

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Unit Details: - Adult and pediatric med-surg patients; no telemetry. - Pediatric patients range from 29 days through 15 years. - Nurses may be responsible for total patient care. - Ratios: Pediatrics 1:4; adults 1:5. - Uses continuous respiratory monitors that measure O2 sat, RR, HR, and/or ETCO2. - HFNC for adults via mobile device; pediatric patients requiring HFNC transfer to ICU pending transfer to a tertiary care facility. - Common pediatric diagnoses include RSV, croup, bronchiolitis, pneumonia, GI conditions, and straightforward post-ops. - Common adult and adolescent diagnoses include women’s health, alcohol withdrawal, dementia/geriatric, ENT post-ops, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, urosepsis, plastic surgeries, SBO, and bowel resections.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend; night shift weekend is Friday and Saturday. - Only one major holiday.

Floating Requirements: - Will only float to other med/surg units.

7 days maximum time off

1 reference required from within the last 3 years

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
