Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Idaho license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - St. Luke’s Health System.

Additional Details:

Special Requests: Employment history entries must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level if applicable, patient ratio, and whether the facility is a teaching facility. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Previous employees may be considered only with approval from St. Luke’s Health System. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job. Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.

Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read and interpret telemetry.

Unit Details: Uses Epic. Nurse:patient ratios are generally 1:5; neck dissections, facial reconstructions, and epilepsy patients may be 1:4. Patient population includes ortho cases (total joints; ankle, knee, hip, shoulder), traumatic fractures, ENT surgeries (thyroid surgeries, lap nissens, neck dissections with implanted dopplers and 30 minute doppler checks, trachs), facial reconstructions, Graves disease eye surgeries, ED and ICU transfers, sepsis, high flow O2, pediatric overflow patients (pneumonia, ortho surgeries, some pediatric behavioral), general Med-Surg cases (appys, choles, pneumonia, COPD), and epilepsy patients on EEG and video monitoring. Travelers generally will not be assigned epilepsy patients unless they specifically want them. Heparin is the common drip; RNs are not required to titrate drips. High flow and home-regimen CPAP and BiPAP are used; patients on CPAP and BiPAP cannot be daytime dependent. Charge nurse does not take patients; 2 assistant managers on days, 1 on nights, and a unit-based educator provide support. Nurse aides/patient care tech ratio is 1:08.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekends as needed. Holidays as needed. Night shifts are often scheduled together when possible, but not guaranteed.

Floating Requirements: Will float to like units here (4, 5, 6, 9 - generally will not take specialty patients on these floors). May also float to Meridian Medical Center and Nampa Medical Center to Med-Surg floors only.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 3 years

Driver’s license required for submission
