Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 36 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Epic is required from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <75 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

IV Therapy/Phlebotomy: Accessing/Managing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting and maintaining IVs

Gastrointestinal: Bariatric surgery, Bowel obstruction, Colostomy care and management, Feeding tube care and management

Respiratory: Chest tubes – Emerson/PleurEvac, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Oral suctioning, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks, Pre/Post Thoracic Surgery, Tracheostomy care/management

Genitourinary/Renal: Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI), Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management, Renal failure

Neurological/Psychiatric: CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), Pre/Post neurosurgery, Spinal cord injuries, Substance Withdrawal, Traumatic Brain Injury

Medications: Heparin, Insulin, PCA

Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Telemetry – on the unit monitoring, Telemetry – remote monitoring, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams

Professional Knowledge and Skills: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac

Work Settings: Med/Surg, MS/Tele, Short Stay – 23 hour Stay Unit, Telemetry

Orthopedics: Ortho trauma, Total Joint Replacements

Cardiovascular: Post Angiogram, Post MI

Plastics: Surgical drains

Endocrine/Metabolic: Thyroidectomy

Preferred Skills:

Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response: Management of dysrhythmias

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge, Teaching Hospital, Community Hospital, LTAC Experience

Required Credentials: Stroke Cert
