Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - Memorial Health System - IL and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Memorial Health System - IL.

• 12 months gap required between for Per Diem at Program: Aya Program - Memorial Health System - IL and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Memorial Health System - IL.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Cardiac monitoring and emergency response experience, including telemetry remote monitoring and use of rapid response teams. Cardiovascular case experience: post angiogram and post MI. Endocrine/metabolic case experience: IV insulin protocols. Gastrointestinal case experience: colostomy care; feeding tube care and management. Genitourinary/renal case experience: pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure. IV therapy/phlebotomy experience: blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and starting IVs. Medication experience: heparin, insulin, and PCA. Neurological/psychiatric case experience: CVA and pre/post neuro surgery. Ortho trauma experience. Surgical drain experience. Respiratory case experience: chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tank. Professional knowledge/skills: isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac. Previous charge experience. Teaching Hospital Experience. Community Hospital Experience

Unit Details: General med-surg and overflow stroke unit serving adult to elderly patients with diagnoses including respiratory illness, infection, stroke, trauma patients, and surgical overflow. Nursing treatments include dressing changes, including VACs, chest tubes, IV medications, central line care, Foley catheter care, drain care, tube feedings, wound care, and lab and test interpretation to assist with diagnosis and treatment. Basic equipment used on the unit includes a Hoyer lift and bladder scanner.

Special Requests: Cannot contract to block scheduling but typically can schedule colleagues 3 in a row. Discuss schedule requests with manager.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend required.

Floating Requirements: Will float as needed to other MedSurg and like units.

5 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 2

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required

1 Charge/Lead reference required
