Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
• Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Required Skills/Experience: - Central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes.
Preferred Skills/Experience: - Epic and travel experience on a Med-Surg floor preferred; candidates with level I trauma center experience may be considered without travel experience if they have Epic experience.
Unit Details: - Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4-5 from 07-2300 and 1:5-6 from 23-0730. - Acute care general medicine patient population includes cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, syncope, anemia, uncontrolled diabetes, acute respiratory failure, liver failure, kidney failure, behavioral health, and addictions. - Common drips: Heparin and Lasix. - Free charge RN on each floor. - PCT support for vital signs, accuchecks, bladder scans, and ADLs; PCT ratio 1:8-10. - Uses BiPAP/CPAP for sleep apnea, inhaler administration, and suctioning. - House-wide telemetry is monitored remotely; RNs can view strips on the pack or computer. Philips monitors.
Shift & Scheduling: - Self-scheduling via API electronic schedule; block scheduling allowed. - Every other weekend for nights: Fri/Sat. - Holiday requirement varies. - No call.
Floating Requirements: - Rotation to other acute care general medicine areas, including nephrology, neuro, ortho, and oncology.
7 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
1 reference required from within the last 3 years
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
