Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Travel experience is required.

• 6 months of Trauma Level 1 facility is required within the last 3 years.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Arizona license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - Typical patient population includes post-op, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, and infection. - Heparin drips only; no cardiac gtts. - RT is assigned to the unit. - No PCTs; a resource RN is utilized in addition to the charge RN.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Charge nurse experience. - Telemetry experience in case of floating to other units within the hospital.

Special Requests: - An interview may not be available prior to offer. - Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. - Resume: Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, and whether the facility is a teaching facility. - Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. - At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job. - Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. - Travel Teams must have their own vehicles.

Required Credentials: - Must pass a dysrhythmia exam; the source notes this is required prior to accepting and also describes it as a pass/fail exam on day 1 of orientation. Two attempts are allowed; failure results in DNU for 6 months with CS AZ and Sac Region. - Pass/fail SIMs Lab is expected for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes for travelers going to St. Joseph main campus and/or St. Joseph Westgate campus. The source notes nurses have been termed during SIMs Lab for breaking sterile field. Lifts, restraints, and wound care are educational only.

Shift & Scheduling: - Self-scheduling, 4 weeks at a time. - Weekend requirement: 3 weekend days per pay period (Saturday/Sunday); shift notes also state 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks. - Holidays based on unit coverage. - No call.

Floating Requirements: - Float to other med/surg/tele areas; travelers are first to float. Because this is a newer unit, there may be a need to float to other med/surg/tele units. ICU RNs take a ratio of 1:3. - ER float positions will require floating between different ER satellite locations in the area. A home base facility will try to be established; however, this may not be the facility the clinician is regularly at. A schedule will be made in advance so clinicians know which location they will report to.

Details:

AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
