JOB SUMMARY:
Assists the Vice President of Quality & Patient Safety and the Vice President of Pharmacy & Respiratory Therapy, to support the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the medication safety program across the health system. Supports the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of medication-related risks through event review, data analysis, and the application of evidence-based practices. Contributes to initiatives aimed at reducing patient harm, improving clinician workflows, and enhancing medication-use safety across care settings. Serves as a medication safety subject matter resource, participates in multidisciplinary committees, and assists with monitoring key performance indicators to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and national safety standards. Promotes a culture of safety through education, collaboration, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Ensures compliance with statewide, national, CMS and TJC standards and regulations.
- Supports the development and sustainment of a system-wide culture of medication safety across the medication-use process.
- Supports performance improvement efforts related to medication safety through data analysis, event review, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Provides education to staff and physicians.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with Medication Safety duties; 7+ years of experience preferred
- PharmB or MScPhm or PharmD
- Pharmacist License - Current Maryland license or eligibility to obtain Maryland license
