Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 36 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 36 months of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience.
• Travel experience is preferred.

Required Skills/Experience: Minimum 3–4 years of recent Level III NICU experience required. Strong experience caring for high-acuity and critically ill neonates. Therapeutic cooling experience required. Must be comfortable independently managing complex neonatal respiratory patients. Strong experience with premature and extremely low-birth-weight infants.
Required Credentials: Driver License is required for RN/LPN/PTs working on a compact license. Ascension Core Competencies required during onboarding; minimum 80% or the national benchmark passing score that demonstrates competency in the area of specialization, 2 attempts allowed.
Special Requests: Current Ascension employees cannot apply for travel roles. Candidates need to have employment separation for at least 6 months to be considered for a travel position. In order to receive travel rate, clinician’s claimed residence must match address on driver’s license.
Unit Details: Level III NICU caring for super high-acuity and critically ill neonates, including premature and medically complex infants requiring advanced respiratory support and therapeutic cooling. Provides advanced respiratory care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex neonates. Manages invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, including conventional ventilators and high-frequency ventilation (HFOV/HFJV). Manages CPAP, BiPAP/NIPPV, high-flow nasal cannula, and oxygen therapy. Assists with intubation, extubation, airway management, emergency stabilization, and surfactant administration. Obtains and interprets arterial, capillary, and venous blood gases. Adjusts respiratory support based on patient condition, blood gases, and provider orders. Participates in neonatal resuscitation, high-risk deliveries, and respiratory support for neonates undergoing therapeutic hypothermia/cooling. Maintains and troubleshoots ventilators, respiratory equipment, and airway devices.

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or the alternative certification CRT
