Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Kentucky license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• No previous experience allowed for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - University of Louisville (UofL) and no current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - University of Louisville (UofL).

Additional Details:

Special Requests: - First-time travelers accepted with manager approval.

Unit Details: - High-acuity rehab unit focused mainly on spinal cord injuries. - Patient population includes traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury (SCI), stroke (CVA), amputees, burns, pediatric, and multi-trauma patients. Travelers are not expected to care for pediatric patients. - 1:6-7. Typically could go up to 7 2-3 times per month. - Trach care, vents, BiPAPs, CPAPs, IVs, PICCs, central lines, wound care, bowel programs, TPN, drains/tubes, pulmonary patients with trachs, laryngectomies, and G-tube/PEG-tube feedings. - Patients may leave the unit for HD and PD. - Phlebotomy support is available, but RNs are ultimately responsible. - PCA/CNA support ratio 1:7-8. Unit coordinators available 0700-2300; support includes MDs, NPs, residents, and PT/OT/ST. - No monitors on unit. Vital Sync monitors connect to Oxy net, with centralized monitoring at night. - Uses Plum 360 IV pumps and Omnicell. - Parking: Free parking, badge access parking garage

Shift & Scheduling: - Every third weekend. - No call. - Will be expected to work some holidays. If there are back-to-back holidays in the contract (i.e. Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day), they will be assigned one grouping, not both. - Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks.

Floating Requirements: - Could float within scope of practice here. All staff float evenly; Float Pool is used primarily for floating.

7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 09/07/2026, 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 12/31/2026, 01/01/2027, 05/31/2027, 07/04/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 0

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
