Role Summary: Completes requirements for ASHP residency programs by working under the direction of pharmacists and physicians. Supports department by applying knowledge to achieve optimal drug therapy outcomes, communicating drug information to all customers and providing pharmaceutical care. Also, by exercising skill in educating other health care professionals, patients and community, dispensing medications, documenting medications dispensed, providing drug information, interpreting physician orders and assuring the efficacy, safety, timeliness, accuracy and legality of pharmaceutical care. Supports the patient by serving the neonate, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric and dying patient(orientation, continuing education, knowledge and skills are to be developed as appropriate for these age categories).
