We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Hospice Inpatient Manager to oversee operations across three inpatient hospice units located at Sinai Hospital, Northwest Hospital, and Carroll Hospital. The manager will lead multidisciplinary teams, drive clinical excellence, and support patient- and family-centered care at the end of life.
Lead the development, implementation, and annual review of clinical protocols, procedures, and nursing standards.
Monitor clinical competencies and compliance with nursing processes and JCAHO standards.
Serve as a clinical resource and role model in hospice nursing care.
Plan and implement educational opportunities for hospice team members.
Ensure continued professional development and education, including tracking CEUs and certifications.
Facilitate monthly staff meetings in collaboration with Unit Directors.
Develop and evaluate annual departmental goals aligned with the hospital’s business plan.
Coordinate performance improvement activities and report outcomes to staff and leadership.
Identify deficiencies and implement action plans with the Unit Director or Vice President.
Assist in the development of the departmental budget.
Review and analyze monthly budget variances, providing justifications and recommendations.
Coordinate and prepare work schedules in a timely, efficient manner.
Review daily staffing levels and make necessary adjustments.
Demonstrate schedule flexibility to meet patient and unit needs.
Partner with Unit Directors to apply consistent and fair disciplinary processes.
Participate in interviewing and hiring new team members.
Foster a collaborative, supportive, and professional work environment.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues, physicians, patients, and families.
Utilize proper communication channels to address and resolve issues.
Develop inter- and intra-departmental relationships to support optimal patient and staff outcomes.
Required:
Current Maryland RN License
AHA BLS Provider Certification
5–7 years of nursing experience (preferably with hospice or inpatient experience)
Preferred:
Certification in specialty area (e.g., RNC, CCRN, CNOR)
Membership in at least one professional nursing organization
25+ contact hours of continuing education annually
