Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• High School completion required.

Requirements:

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: RightSourcing Program - United Health Services.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: High School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Operating Room experience preferred.

Unit Details: Observes and practices sterile technique, maintains asepsis, actively participates in patient care and safety, utilizes OR supplies conservatively, and works as a team member of the OR staff. Demonstrates expertise in surgical scrub technique and adheres to sterile technique preoperatively and intra-operatively. Assists the surgeon with gowning, gloving, draping, passing instruments and related items during procedures, anticipates instrument, suture, and equipment needs, and assists in suturing, retracting, and suctioning under surgeon direction. Maintains an organized operative field, keeps accurate sponge, tape, needle, dissector, and instrument counts, prepares cases by assembling supplies and equipment in accordance with preference cards and identifying conflicts or problems, and cares appropriately for instruments and supplies after each case. Provides a safe surgical environment by identifying potential hazards, assists the RN circulator in preoperative checks of equipment, handles and identifies specimens per policy, expedites effective and efficient OR turnover between cases, and acts as a resource for new OR personnel. Uses Epic.

Shift & Scheduling: Days may vary based on the needs of the unit. On-call approximately every 5th-6th weekend. Weekend call begins at 11 PM Friday night thru 11PM on Sunday night.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 2 years

Proof of identification required

Certifications:

• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA)) or the alternative certification TS-C
