Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit experience.
• Experience with Cerner is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Kentucky license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: Required skills include tracheostomy care, ventilators, BiPAPs, CPAPs, IVs, PICC lines, central lines, wound care, bowel programs, TPN, drains/tubes, care of pulmonary patients with trachs, laryngectomies, and G-tube/PEG-tube (tube feeds).
Special Requests: First-time travelers require manager approval. RTO approval must go through the manager.
Unit Details: The patient population includes mixed-acuity adults and pediatric patients; travelers are not expected to care for pediatric patients. Common diagnoses include traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury (SCI), strokes (CVA), amputations, burns, pediatric cases, and multitrauma. The unit provides high-acuity rehabilitation. Patient assignments may increase to 7 patients 2-3 times per month. Patients leave the unit for hemodialysis (HD) and peritoneal dialysis (PD). Phlebotomy support is available, but RNs remain ultimately responsible. There are no monitors on the unit; Vital Sync monitors connect to OxyNet, with monitoring centralized at night. Equipment includes Plum 360 IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing.
Shift & Scheduling: Every third weekend rotation. No call. Holiday work is expected; for back-to-back holiday groupings (e.g., Thanksgiving/Black Friday or Christmas Eve/Christmas Day), the clinician will be assigned one holiday in the grouping, not both. The schedule cycle is every 6 weeks.
Floating Requirements: Floating may occur within the clinician’s scope of practice; floating is distributed evenly among staff and is primarily handled through the Float Pool.
7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 12/31/2026, 01/01/2027, 05/31/2027, 07/04/2027, 09/06/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 0
