Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit experience with any experience within the last 36 months (3 years).

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Declinations not accepted.

• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Float experience does not count towards the unit experience requirement.

Special Requests: A parking pass is required.

Unit Details: Common diagnoses and treatments include new-onset endocrine conditions; post-PICU/stable DKA; general surgeries (tonsil/adenoid procedures and appendectomies) and wounds; postoperative pectus excavatum/carinatum; burn/trauma; asthma, RSV, pneumonia, failure to thrive, Crohn’s disease, short-gut syndrome, and complex chronic conditions including cerebral palsy, G-tubes, and developmental delay. Special procedures include intensive diabetes management with or without CGM and implanted insulin pumps; oxygen delivery up to HFNC; stable tracheostomies without ventilators; IV infusions via PIV, PICC, CVL, TPN/IL, and PCA; NG/G/PEG tubes; ostomies; NG decompression tubes; bladder scans; tracheostomies without ventilators (HTC/capped); and pulse oximetry without cardiac monitoring. Unit care includes drains, epidural pumps, feeding tubes, PCA pumps, PICC/central lines, Port-A-Cath/vascular device access and care, syringe pumps, traction/halo/pin care, and wound vacs.

Shift & Scheduling: Shifts may be days or nights. Some weekends and holidays. No call.

Floating Requirements: Float support includes all other G/C/Med-Surg areas: 8C Progressive Care, Neuroscience, HemOnc, and inpatient rehab.

Facility holidays: 10/31/2026, 11/26/2026, 12/24/2026, 12/25/2026, 12/31/2026. Number of holidays allowed off: 1

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 3 years
