Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• No current placement allowed at Program: RightSourcing Program - UNC Health.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: - Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Unit Details: - Provides airway management, mechanical ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, respiratory care procedures, and treatments to assess, prevent, stabilize, or remedy respiratory dysfunction. - Performs aerosol medication delivery, basic bedside pulmonary function testing, breathing exercises, arterial punctures, tracheostomy care, tracheostomy tube changes, endotracheal intubations and extubations, and may perform pulmonary function testing as needed. - Performs all aspects of ventilator care, including ventilator setup and function verification, use of specialized ventilator modes, patient monitoring, and weaning techniques. - When working with Carolina Air Care, may transport pediatric and neonatal patients from referral hospitals and perform advanced procedures per UNC Air Care Protocol, including UAC, UVC, IV insertion, chest tube insertion, needle decompression, ABGs, and blood glucose monitoring. - When working with ECMO, may manage extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support.

Shift & Scheduling: - On-call 1 weekend per 6 weeks. - Weekends required: 6 shifts per 6 weeks. - Must be available on Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day.
