A Radiology Technician (Radiologic Technologist) performs diagnostic imaging, such as X-rays, using ionizing radiation while ensuring patient safety (ALARA standards).
Key Responsibilities
Imaging & Procedures: Perform X-rays, fluoroscopy, and other diagnostic images while applying ionizing radiation safety protocols (ALARA).
Patient Care: Prepare, transfer, and position patients, ensuring modesty and comfort.
Equipment Management :Operate, calibrate, and maintain imaging equipment, including Computed Radiology (CR) units and ensuring proper shielding.
Technical Proficiency: Select appropriate exposure factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
Documentation: Accurately update patient records and clinical history in systems like MEDITECH.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Min 1 year exp required
Certification: Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
Licensure: State-specific license (e.g., Florida Department of Health CRT licensure).
Basic Life Support (BLS):American Heart Association BLS certification required.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Frequent standing, walking, and bending.
Must be able to assist in lifting and transferring patients.
May require working evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
