Summary
Follows standard algorithms, guidelines, and protocols of LBH hospitals; must keep informed about changes to hospital policies, procedures, and equipment
Accurately evaluates assigned patient and documents clinical assessments, including emotional and physical pain, and required comfort measures; prioritizing patient/family needs into plan of care
Assesses and documents patient/family educational needs: to aid in informed decision making about healthcare treatment and to provide a successful transfer within the healthcare environment; coordinates with peers to establish educational resources as needed
Maintains a safe environment for patient and family
Develops and coordinates discharge plans, independently or in collaboration with other staff
Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving skills, professional behavior, and customer service
Performs hourly rounding
Participates in team meetings regarding patient care and/or practice issues
Delegates tasks/care to appropriate staff to ensure timely follow-up
Engages in peer review process
Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated patient care
Engages in ongoing practice needs and initiatives to improve quality, engagement, and successful outcomes; remains current on nursing research and evidence-based clinical practice changes.
Awareness of Nurse Sensitive Indicators and polices related to reduction of NSI.
Experience: Required: * Less than one year
Education: Required: * Associate's Degree in Nursing Preferred: * Bachelor of Science in Nursing Licenses And Certification:
Required: * Basic Life Support * Registered Nurse License - Current Maryland license or eligibility to obtain Maryland license
