Job Summary and Qualifications

Registered nurse who demonstrates critical thinking skills within the purpose and scope of services. Assumes responsibility and accountability for proactive, efficient personal work flow. Takes personal responsibility to communicate with the team to ensure resources and work processes are operating smoothly and efficiently. The COE nurse will electronically review physician orders for technical accuracy in the Patient Keeper platform. Patient Keeper is HCA’s physician interface that helps healthcare facilities and professionals maximize time, operate with flexibility, ensure patient safety and access life-saving data all within one platform. The comprehensive data and simplified user experience, within both desktop and mobile settings, help providers deliver superior care when it matters most.

What you will do in this role:

  •  Primary responsibilities include the following:
  • 1. Transcription check and acknowledgement of orders that are entered into Patient Keeper by the provider and transcribed into Meditech by the Pharmacist
  • 2. Verification and acknowledgement of orders that are entered into Patient Keeper by the provider and entered Meditech by either and interface or scripting solution.
  • 3. Verification of interface or scripting of discharge medication reconciliation
  • 4. Communication and escalation of issues or challenges
  • • Clinical, interpersonal, detail-oriented, customer-focused
  • • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with ability to maintain confidential information is required
  • • Mature understanding of Meditech
  • • Ability to work independently
  • • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clinical and information technology personnel verbally and in writing
  • • Demonstrated advanced computer skills
  • • Effective organizational skills
  • • Good problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • • Existing knowledge of the facility’s clinical/operational processes, challenges and Meditech environment preferred
  • • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • • Customer service orientation and/or training
  • Preferred:
  • • Existing knowledge of the facility’s clinical/operational processes, challenges and Meditech environment preferred
  • • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • • Customer service orientation and/or training

What qualifications you will need:
  • Nursing degree required
  • Current Registered Nursing Licenses with the Texas Board of Nursing
