Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in an outpatient oncology setting, including assessment, care planning, and evaluation of treatment effectiveness.
Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other oncology-related medications safely in accordance with established protocols.
Monitor and manage treatment side effects and coordinate appropriate interventions.
Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, symptom management, and self-care strategies.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and continuing education programs.
Uphold institutional policies, professional standards, and safety regulations in all aspects of care delivery.
Minimal Qualifications
Education
Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of recent RN experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting required.
Previous oncology or infusion experience highly required.
Familiarity with chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and patient education in oncology strongly desired.
