Job Summary and Qualifications
The role of the Registered Nurse is to perform patient care under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director. The Registered Nurse provides therapeutic and administrative services necessary for the care of the patient, and in support of the mission of Overland Park Regional Medical Center. The Registered Nurse provides care for adolescent patients between 12 to 17 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 50 years.
Our fast-paced, high-acuity, and high-volume Labor and Delivery (L&D) and Antepartum units are specialized, critical care environments. Manage complex pregnancies, rapid childbirth, and emergency interventions simultaneously. Environment defined by intensity, constant activity, and the need for quick, precise, and possible life-saving decisions. Antepartum and L&D RNs receive cross-training to support all obstetric patients across the units.
FULL-TIME DAYS SCHEDULE: (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) 3 12-hr shifts plus rotating weekends.
- This is an Antepartum primary RN , meaning this RN's scheduled shifts will primarily be in high-risk antepartum. However, they we will cross train in labor and delivery and OBED. If we have an emergency delivery, this RN may need to assist or do that delivery until someone from labor and delivery can take over. If we have a low census on antepartum, they are expected to float to labor and delivery or cover OBED.
- With our growth expansion, these nurses are going to get expanded education to include critical care obstetrics modules.
- They are expected to care for pregnant patients 20 weeks to term with complications requiring increased surveillance and monitoring as well as high acuity postpartum patients.
What qualifications you will need:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- (RN) Registered Nurse
- Registered Nurse Diploma
- No Travel Required
- This is our high-risk antepartum unit, will need to have 2-3 years labor and delivery/antepartum experience, preferably with a high risk population.
