Under medical direction, provides treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities with the cardio-pulmonary system.
Responsibilities
Performs all duties of the Respiratory Therapist, using excellent customer service and assuring patient safety at all times. Able to look at the whole patient and offer solutions within scope of care. Performs initial and ongoing assessments of the patient’s past medical history, smoking, level of activity, home O2 use and respiratory medications. Assure all procedures have required orders. Ensure all needed changes are discussed with provider and orders are written as changes are made. Develops and documents plan of care for selected patients/families. Collaborates with other staff members to develop and document the patient's Plan of Care; or modifies existing Plan of Care as appropriate in order to ensure optimal, cost effective, high quality patient care according to policy.
Experience: Required: * 1-3 years
Education: Required: * Associate's Degree AA Degree in Respiratory Care
Licenses And Certification: Required: * Certified Respiratory Therapist * Basic Life Support
Preferred: * Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support * Pediatric Advanced Life Support
ACLS required within one year of hire; PALS required within one year of hire
