PRN Certified / Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT)
Summary
Under medical direction, provides respiratory care including treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation, and support for patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities.
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties of a Respiratory Therapist with a strong focus on patient safety and exceptional customer service.
- Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing patient assessments, including:
- Past medical history
- Smoking history
- Activity level
- Home oxygen use
- Current respiratory medications
- Evaluate the overall clinical picture and provide solutions within scope of practice.
- Ensure all respiratory procedures are supported by appropriate physician orders.
- Communicate recommended changes to providers and ensure updated orders are obtained.
- Develop, implement, and document individualized plans of care for patients and families.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create or modify patient care plans to ensure high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Required: 1–3 years of respiratory therapy experience
Education:
- Required: Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care
Licensure & Certifications:
- Required:
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Preferred:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Additional Requirements:
- ACLS certification required within one year of hire
- PALS certification required within one year of hire
