Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

Additional Details:

3 separate interview times must be provided with each submission.

Required Skills/Experience: Current, competent and basic knowledge of intensive care and neonatal intensive care, including EKG, ABG, spirometry, and oximetry.

Required Credentials: Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Therapy.

Unit Details: Provides respiratory care consultations, respiratory therapy procedures, ventilator management, bedside diagnostics, and outpatient diagnostics as needed. Treats patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders using oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy; monitors treatment progress and educates patients about respiratory disorders, medication use, and respiratory plans for discharge home. Performs ABG sampling and manages medical gases, humidification systems, and ventilator support. The role includes cardiopulmonary resuscitation, airway management, intubation/tracheotomy assistance, and non-invasive CPAP/BiPAP therapies. Diagnostic testing includes pulmonary function testing, electrocardiograms, electroencephalograms, and home sleep testing. All modes of ventilation used at Montrose Memorial Hospital may be part of the role, with proficiency or the ability to learn them expected. The role includes inpatient hospital floor care and outpatient diagnostics. Patient care spans pediatric to geriatric populations and includes intensive care and neonatal intensive care. Approximately 80% of patient care is provided per protocols; the role involves patient assessment, identification of therapeutic indicators, interpretation and integration of diagnostic information, assessment of therapy effectiveness, and modification or discontinuation of therapy per protocols.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend shifts are included. Holiday coverage is included. After-hours call may include weekends and holidays as needed to meet department needs. The role includes various rotating schedules and extended shifts.
