Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 12 months within the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 6 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Must have adult ICU experience. CRT candidates may be accepted but must have critical care experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience: 1-3 years of experience preferred.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 90 days must be explained.

Unit Details: Responsible for the pulmonary care of critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Performs patient assessments and institutes respiratory care plans. Performs various technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures in all areas of the hospital. Emergency response includes Code Blue and Code White. Airway management includes nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning. Provides aerosolized drugs. Ventilator management includes setup and operation. Performs oral hygiene. Performs airway-retaining device placement and maintenance. Manages airway support devices, including BiPAP and CPAP. Manages oxygen-delivery devices and performs therapeutic monitoring. Performs chest-film analysis, blood-gas collection and analysis, and EKG analysis. RRTs may function as shift leader or serve as team leader. Advanced practice skills may include therapeutic gas management and monitoring, including iNO and HeO2; pulmonary function testing; bronchoscopy assist; hemodynamic monitoring; waveform analysis; nocturnal SpO2 evaluation (desaturation studies); polysomnography; and transport duties.

Shift & Scheduling: Shift times are 6:00PM-6:00AM or 7:00PM-7:00AM. Every other weekend and holidays. No call.

Floating Requirements: Will float between the Lake Charles facility and the St. Patrick facility. The shift at the St. Patrick facility will be 6PM-6AM, and the shift at the Lake Charles facility will be 7PM-7AM.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years

Proof of identification required

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or the alternative certification CRT

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
