Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
Requirements:

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• No current placement allowed at Program: HealthTrust Program - Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center.

Required Skills/Experience: Respiratory care modalities such as, but not limited to use of ventilators, EKG machines, treadmills, bedside PFT screeners, percussion devices
Required Credentials: Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Therapy
Special Requests: Block scheduling possible (6 shift).
Unit Details: Provides respiratory care services for newborn, pediatric, and adult patients. Main services include clinical assessment; invasive and noninvasive ventilation care; manual ventilation; mechanical ventilation; CPAP/BiPAP modalities; heated high-flow nasal cannula; assist with patient transport when respiratory intervention is warranted; arterial blood gas puncture and sampling; intubation assistance; assistance with bronchoscopy; cardiac resuscitation, respiratory arrest, and airway management; assist with student education; medical gas therapy; medication therapy; bronchial hygiene therapy; percussion, postural drainage, and flutter therapies; pulse oximetry; nasotracheal and pharyngeal suctioning; patient education including breathing retraining, COPD management, and smoking cessation; cord gas puncture and sampling; insertion of oropharyngeal, nasopharyngeal, and LMA devices; and assistance with surfactant administration. Outpatient procedures include electrocardiograms (EKG) for inpatient and outpatient, pulmonary function testing (PFT), Holter monitoring/mobile cardiac telemetry (MCT), Alpha-1 antitrypsin swab testing, 6-minute walk testing, and employee mask fitting. Uses ventilators, EKG machines, treadmills, bedside PFT screeners, and percussion devices.

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or the alternative certification CRT (National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC))
