Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• Experience with Cerner is required.
• Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred.
Requirements:

Required Skills/Experience: Adult Critical Care, ED, and Pediatrics experience required. Level II nursery experience required. Airway management and suctioning skills required: endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal airway placement, nasal airway suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy/suctioning. Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia required. Medication administration skills required: albuterol, Atrovent, bicarbonate, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Mucomyst, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, terbutaline sulfate, tobramycin, Xopenex. Medication delivery system experience required: aerosol set up mask, aerosol set up trach, Medihaler, metered dose inhaler. Nebulizer skills required: cold, hand held, heated, trach collar. Oxygen therapy skills required: bag and mask, ET tube, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), trach collar. Ventilator management skills required: BiPap, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, weaning from mechanical ventilation. Neonatal/pediatrics equipment and procedure skills required: bubble CPAP, capillary blood gases, CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BIPAP, IMV/SIMV, intubation assist, Pressure/Volume Ventilator, Umbilical blood gases. Experience caring for infant/child patients with respiratory syncytial virus and transient tachypnea of the newborn required. Professional knowledge and skills required: ABG interpretation, chest physiotherapy, drawing arterial blood gases.
Preferred Skills/Experience: NICU, PICU, and transport experience preferred; may need to assist with transfers to sister hospitals. Neonatal/pediatrics experience preferred: assist in high risk delivery, neonatal transports (inter-departmental). Experience caring for infant/child patients with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, near drowning, and respiratory distress syndrome preferred. Community hospital experience is preferred. Level I and II trauma experience preferred.
Special Requests: References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. Ideally no more than 5 days of RTO. Allied clinicians that do not require a state license in hand must arrive 3 days prior to start for fingerprints.
Unit Details: Neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population with all possible diagnoses. Assist with bronchoscopies on occasion. Nighttime and daytime SAT/SBT responsibilities. Mostly routine respiratory care. Called to Emergency Department for all codes/traumas and severe respiratory distress only. Level II Nursery with sporadic bubble CPAP and invasive mechanical ventilation. Pediatrics during RSV season with high HFNC utilization. Patient ratios: 1:4 days, 1:3 nights, 1:4 weekends.
Shift & Scheduling: 4x12 or 3x12s nights (1800-0630). Will work every other or every third weekend depending on department need. On-call required December through April.
Floating Requirements: Will float within scope to meet facility needs.
