Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• Experience with Epic is required.
• AA completion required.
Requirements:

• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >100 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: First-time travelers may be considered upon manager review with strong experience. Critical care experience is required.
Special Requests: You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit & shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility. Up to 7 days of time off may be requested if the department can accommodate it; taking a full week off requires extending the contract. No RTO is allowed during the Sturgis Bike Rally (the first 3 weeks of August). Approved time off does not waive contracted weekly hours; travelers are expected to fulfill all contracted weekly hours. Extension contracts may allow additional flexibility based on department needs.
Unit Details: Patient population includes adult critical care, pediatric critical care, neonatal critical care, and general inpatient respiratory care in a highly progressive/acute respiratory care department. Clinicians must be prepared to care for NICU patients if the requisition calls for it. The department is busy and fast-paced. The unit uses Omnicell for medication dispensing. Equipment includes Draeger V500 and Savina 300 ventilators; 3100A High Frequency Oscillator; 3100 B High Frequency Oscillator; Bunnell High Frequency Jet; Hamilton C1; ResMed APAP, CPAP, and Bi-level; Airvo2 high-flow devices; Cough Assist; Incourage vest; ABL90 blood gas machines; IPV; and Vero iNO device.
Shift & Scheduling: Shift lengths may be 6 or 12 hours. Every other weekend. On-call requirements depend on the facility/job requisition. Where applicable, Home Health call is every other week, with business hours 0800-1730 and call hours 1730-0800 plus weekends/holidays. Spearfish call is 1am-6am 3 days per week. Other-facility call is generally not required unless planned events such as the Rally at Rapid City Hospital are scheduled; Spearfish and Sturgis hospitals have call when there are needs there. Work on holidays that fall within the contract dates.
Floating Requirements: RT coverage is provided throughout the hospital and in the ED. Floating to other facilities will not occur unless specified in the contract.

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or the alternative certification CRT
