Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• Experience with Epic is required.

Special Requests: If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility. Eligibility as current/previous employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. Can only apply to 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system. Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility. Previous permanent employees must be gone for 2 years. Previous travelers there for 1 full year must be gone for 2 years. Travel pairs must be submitted together.
Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to intubate independently for adults. Prior Level II-III NICU experience to include ventilators. Pediatric floor care and adult experience. Willing to consider someone with old NICU experience and no pediatric experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous NICU experience preferred.
Required Credentials: CRT accepted only if license was held prior to July 1st 2022. Any license hits need to be disclosed at time of submission.
Unit Details: Treatment load fluctuates and may include several floors with treatments or ICU patients with multiple vents and NIVs. Assignments may include ER, ICU, and 2nd floor coverage; each RT has an individual assignment. Patient population includes pediatrics, adults, and neonates. Includes Level III NICU coverage. Clinical RT role only; no PFTs. Duties include assessing patients/clients, planning treatments, setting goals and treatment methods, setting up equipment, and administering O2, humidity therapy, airway management, resuscitation, mechanical ventilation, postural drainage, chest physiotherapy, BiPAP, CPAP, nebulizers, inhalers, and ABGs. Performs EKGs during off hours from 5pm-7am and all weekend, but not in the ER. Uses Servo U, Hamilton G5, Hamilton T1 transport ventilator, Philips Respironics V60 BiPAP/non-invasive ventilation, AirVo, and MaxTech systems.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend for days: Saturday/Sunday. Every other holiday. No call.
14 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or the alternative certification CRT
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)
