Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >100 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

Required Skills/Experience: ER, ICU, and inpatient adult experience required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Peds experience preferred. Willing to train on Peds.

Special Requests: If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility. Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: No previous employment allowed at this facility.

Unit Details: Adults mainly; also covers a pediatric inpatient unit and family birthing unit with no C-sections. Covers all inpatient areas and ED, as well as inpatient EKGs, outpatient EKGs, and outpatient bronchs in a procedural setting. May be called to initiate CPAP on an infant. Travelers do not cover Sleep Lab, Pulmonary Rehab, or Cardiac Rehab. Job duties include breathing treatments, vent management, drawing and running ABG samples, and EKGs for outpatient and inpatient areas. Can have as many as 8-9 vents in ICU at a time. Uses a points system to assign areas and will try to break up areas evenly. Travelers will not be required to do any critical care transporting outside of the facility. Assist in intubation only. Uses Expanse - hCare. Equipment includes Puritan Bennett 840, Hamilton C1, Avea, BiPAP V60, and Vapotherm for high flow. Open ICU with 2 pulmonologists on staff, a hospitalist in house 24/7, and physician residents who may intubate from time to time.

Shift & Scheduling: Set schedules. Every other weekend. Open to travelers wanting to work only weekends. If the holiday falls on their scheduled day to work, they will work it. Only holidays are Christmas and New Year’s. No call.

Floating Requirements: Within facility only.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) or the alternative certification RRT

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

• STABLE (Sugar, Temperature, Airway. Blood Pressure, Lab work and Emotional Support)
