Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

If the candidate worked at a permanent facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from that permanent facility.

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Special Requests: Cannot apply to more than one position across the WVU system at a time. Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility. Previous permanent candidates must be gone for 2 years. Previous travelers who were there for 1 full year must be gone for 2 years. Travel pairs must be submitted together.

Required Credentials: Will accept CRT if the license was held prior to July 1, 2022.

Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to intubate independently for adults. Prior Level II-III NICU experience including ventilators. Pediatric floor care and adult experience. Will consider someone with older NICU experience and no pediatric experience.

Unit Details: Cares for pediatric, adult, and neonatal patients, including Level III NICU patients. Clinical respiratory care only; no PFTs. Each clinician typically has an assigned area such as ER, ICU, or 2nd floor for the day. Duties include assessing patients/clients, planning treatments based on physician orders and evaluations, setting up equipment, and administering oxygen, humidity therapy, airway management, resuscitation, mechanical ventilation, postural drainage procedures, chest physiotherapy, BiPAP, CPAP, nebulizers, inhalers, and ABGs. Performs EKGs during off hours from 5pm-7am and all weekend, but not in the ER. Uses Servo U, Hamilton G5, Hamilton T1 transport ventilator, Philips Respironics V60, AirVo, and MaxTech systems.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; for nights, weekend coverage is Fri/Sat/Sun. Every other holiday. No call.

7 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission

Certifications:

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or the alternative certification CRT

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
