About the Role:
Performs registration and scheduling of outpatient appointments, charge entry, collection of co-pays, medical record functions, secures authorizations, in addition to performing key billing functions to support professional and hospital revenue cycle processes in accordance with established LBH and departmental policies and procedures.
 
Key Responsibilities:
	- Updates registrations as needed by interviewing patients or responsible party to obtain personal demographic data, health insurance coverage and enters all data in the hospital system. Obtains all required referrals, authorizations or pre-certification. Coordinates the pre-registration of accounts for eligibility, benefits, authorization, proper notification practices, and in accordance with CMS and patient access protocols
 
	- Coordinates communication of financial clearance to all customers and serves as the communication liaison between the physician practice and the patient. Process same day add-ons and emergency appointments efficiently to increase accuracy and to minimize patient wait time.
 
	-  Optimizes charge entry/capture process for all professional and facility charges. Reviews patient encounter forms from the EMR to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to charge entry. Verifies patient account information for accuracy including CPT cods, modifiers, ICD-10 codes, provider, DOS and location.
 
Requirements:

Education: Associate's degree preferred

Experience: 1-3 years of revenue cycle experience
