Job Summary and Qualifications

Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on nursing process / outcomes for the Stem Cell Transplant and hematologic disorders patients.

In this role you will: 

  • Reviews and evaluates the care plan, updates and documents the patient's progress toward resolution of problems at least every day. 
  • Discusses patient’s needs for continued care with health team members throughout the shift. 
  • Solicits feedback from caregivers as to patient’s response to nursing intervention. 
  • Reviews new medical orders promptly and implements accordingly. 
  • Assesses patient status and reports pertinent changes to physician promptly.
  • Collaborates with others in planning patient care. 
  • Responds promptly and accurately to meet patient’s needs. 
  • Ability to involve patient/family/significant other in decision making related to patient care.
  • Assesses patient/family/significant other’s learning needs, abilities and readiness to learn.
  • Identifies barriers to learning, such as language or culture. 
  • Integrates this information into the patient’s plan of care. 
  • Explains tests, procedures, disease processes, medications and equipment to patient and family throughout the course of treatment. 

Job Requirements: 

  • Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
  • BLS-AHA Provider issued card required within 30 days of start.
  • Experience in Stem Cell Transplant Therapy or Oncology preferred.
  • 1 year experience in an acute care hospital required.
  • Experience in Stem Cell Transplant Therapy or Oncology preferred.
