JOB SUMMARY:
Plays a critical role within the Security Department of a major healthcare system by leading and supporting a variety of specialized projects and operational initiatives. This position is responsible for conducting officer training, internal investigations, audits, and inspections. Additionally, the role involves tracking training compliance, reviewing incident reports, updating departmental policies, performing statistical analysis, compiling reports, assisting with budget preparation and monitoring, and supporting grant applications.
- Conduct initial, ongoing, and specialized training for Security Officers and Special Police Officers. Maintain and track training records and certifications to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct internal investigations related to security personnel performance or incidents within the department. Review and analyze incident reports for completeness, accuracy, and follow-up actions.
- Perform regular audits and inspections of security operations, personnel, equipment, and facilities. Identify areas for improvement and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Draft, revise, and maintain departmental policies and procedures in alignment with healthcare regulations and industry best practices.
- Compile, analyze, and present data related to security operations, incidents, and departmental performance. Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and performance evaluations for internal use and executive leadership.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the Security Department's annual budget. Track expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support fiscal accountability. Research and assist in the preparation and submission of grant applications to support departmental initiatives.
- Lead and participate in departmental special projects as assigned by the Director of Security. Serve as a liaison between the Security Department and other internal departments or external agencies as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years experience; 7+ years of experience preferred
- Preferred one (1) year of hospital security experience, military/military police, or active/retired law enforcement.
- High School Diploma/GED is required; Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Business, or related field preferred.
- Maryland State Police Guard Certification or Maryland State Security Officer Certification required within 6 months of hire.
- CPR Certification from the American Heart Association required within 6 months of hire.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Commission as a Special Police Officer in the State of Maryland is preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Maryland State concealed carry handgun permit is preferred.
- Driver's License is preferred.
