JOB SUMMARY: Is responsible for the production of high-quality sonograms in an efficient manner while assuming responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer's care. Analyzes sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician. Has a full knowledge of the equipment utilized for diagnostic Ultrasound as well as software and computer systems used to maintain patient information and diagnostic images (PACS).
REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program required. Associate's degree preferred. Current overview and knowledge of operations within a hospital or outpatient Ultrasound Department. Solid foundation of knowledge regarding all diagnostic medical ultrasound systems and exams. RDMS-Sonographer, American heart Association CPR Healthcare Provider Certification, RVT-Registered Vascular Tech preferred.
