Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Telemetry Float Pool experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• 3 months of Cerner experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Arizona license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: Must have unit/specialty experience in the past 6 months. Must be able to titrate cardiac drips.

Unit Details: Patient populations include post-cath lab, post-vascular procedure, day-2 CABG, general telemetry, post-surgical neuro, post-craniotomy, spine, and post-tPA CVA patients. Medical-surgical units are approximately 80% surgical and 20% oncology, with orthopedic, urological, abdominal/Whipple, and women’s surgery cases; no OB/GYN cases. The orthopedic program handles 8-10 elective knee/hip procedures per week. No pediatric patients; patients are age 15 and older. No ventilated patients are managed on these units. The neuro unit has no ICP monitoring. Centralized telemetry is used, and RNs interpret EKGs. Medical-surgical units use GE monitors with a central monitoring station technician. Medical-surgical units use Spectralink phones with the call light attached. On the CV telemetry unit, common drips include Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, and Dobutamine; these are titrated down only. Medical-surgical units use Amio and Cardizem, also titrated down only.

Shift & Scheduling: Four weekend shifts per schedule (Saturday/Sunday). Must work 2 of 3 major holidays. Tele B3A and Tele Neuro require every other weekend. Medical-Surgical C5 and B2C include one major and one minor holiday requirement, with 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period (days: Saturday/Sunday; nights: Friday/Saturday).

Floating Requirements: This is a first-to-float position. Depending on skill level, nurses will float to ICU, Cardiac Tele, all Tele units, MedSurg, and any holding area, including the Cath Lab, ER, observation floor, or a hallway. The observation floor is staffed first, followed by the other units. CV telemetry floating is to similar or lower acuity. Medical-Surgical C5 floats to MedSurg Tele B2C and B2D, and Medical-Surgical B2C floats to MedSurg Tele C5 and B2D. Floating includes Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campuses. The campus and unit are provided 1.5 hours before shift start. Floating to different units may occur mid-shift, and floating to another campus during a single shift is rare but possible. The Chandler and Mercy Gilbert campuses are 9 miles apart and take 15 minutes via interstate depending on traffic.
