Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.
• Must have at least 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience.
• Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
• BSN completion preferred
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Flu vaccination required for submission. Declinations not accepted.
• 12 months between Staff at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health

Previous Employment Requirements: If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler.

• Patient Diagnosis: Congestive Heart Failure, MI, Atrial Fibrillation/Atrial Flutter, Cardiac Dysrhythmias, Stroke/TIA, End Stage Renal Disease, Acute Kidney Failure, Seizures, COPD, Diabetes, COVID, Pneumonia, Encephalopathy, Altered Mental Status, UTI, Sepsis, Chest Pain, Hypertension
• Special Procedures: Peritoneal Dialysis, Dysrhythmia/Telemetry Monitoring
Types of Patients on Unit: Adults, Geriatrics
Equipment Used on Unit: Safe Patient Handling Equipment, Ceiling lifts in every room
Unit/Facility Details:
• 34 beds, 34 rooms
• References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
• A valid driver’s license will be required if driving on behalf of MedStar Health is an essential function of the job.
Special Requests:
• Blocking will be at the discretion of unit leaders.
• RTO must be on the submittal and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager for review.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks per contract.
7 days maximum time off. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
2 references from last 3 years (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission
