Shift: 6:45 AM - 6:45 PM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Texas license or compact license (required after submission).

Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read and interpret strips independently. Must be willing to precept. 2+ years of experience preferred; 1 year will be considered if comfortable and confident.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Neuro and cardiac experience preferred; not a deal breaker.

Cannot have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year. Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered. Block scheduling is allowed.
Unit Details: The unit is part of a monitor pod comprising Tele, Tele-Observation, and Tele-Neuro Stroke. Patient population includes cardiac/telemetry patients with CHF, patients 24-hour post-CABG, Watchman cases, dysrhythmias, EP cases, and some medical telemetry; patients move off the floor when they no longer require telemetry. RNs do not titrate drips; drips are set-rate only. Common drips include Cardizem, dobutamine, milrinone, amiodarone, and dopamine. Patients may use home-regimen CPAP or BiPAP. The 3 monitor units work closely together.
Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling is allowed but is not finalized until balanced by the manager. Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts (every other weekend) in the 6-week period; day-shift weekend coverage is Saturday and Sunday. Holiday requirement: 2 major holidays (the eve and day of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s) and 2 minor holidays; coverage will be filled where there is a need. No call. Flexible contract hours: 36 per week may be considered if 48 hours cannot be worked.
Floating Requirements: Floating is primarily within the 3 monitor pods; occasional floating may be to MedSurg or a higher-acuity floor while taking tele patients only. Travelers are first to float and may float between the Bryan and College Station campuses (16 minutes apart) as needed.
