Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Travel experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Eligibility as current/previous employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Med-Surg/Telemetry, critical drips, and trach care required.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Peritoneal dialysis preferred. Strong cardiac background preferred.
Unit Details: Pulmonary/observation telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with respiratory diagnoses and medical conditions; trach patients are not vented. Titrates heparin, Cardizem (up to 15mg/hr only), Lasix, dopamine (low dose renal perfusion only), and amiodarone drips. Monitor techs are available 24/7; charge RNs read strips, and RNs must also review strips each shift. Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow O2, trachs on trach collar or room air, IV pumps, sequential compression devices, pulse oximetry, and specialty beds. RN performs trach care; RT maintains vents. Traveler may be asked to fill in the charge nurse role and, if willing/interested, would be cross-trained.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend on a set rotation, either weekends 1 and 3 or weekends 2 and 4. Rotational holidays with core staff.
Special Requests: Block scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met. Scheduling requests are taken into consideration. If assigned there long enough, holiday scheduling considers what was worked the previous year so the same holidays are not repeated; preferences may be considered.
Floating Requirements: If not needed on the home unit, required to float to 4P or 5P (Med-Surg) units or the Emergency Department to care for boarded patients. Boarders are intermixed in the Emergency Department. Float pool floats first, then unit staff rotate.

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
