Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.
• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: - Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips. - Experience with set-rate Cardizem and Amiodarone is required.
Preferred Skills/Experience: - TR Band experience preferred.
Special Requests: - All time-off requests must be submitted up front and included in the contract; requests after that must be approved by the facility. Manager may consider occasional day-off requests based on unit needs.
Unit Details: - Observation unit with med-surg and cardiac observation patients. - Common diagnoses include pre/post cath, chest pain rule-outs on heparin drips, COPD, CHF, pacers, arrhythmias, and other med-surg diagnoses. - Uses set-rate Cardizem and Amiodarone drips; occasional Bumex and Lasix drips. - Tele monitor techs are on the 3rd floor, and there is a real-time telemetry viewing monitor on the unit. - Nurse aides assist with EKGs, bladder scans, FSBS, ADLs, and vital signs. - Uses BiPAP and CPAP for supportive therapy only; patients dependent on either are typically transferred to a higher-acuity unit. - Charge nurse on the unit 24/7; night charge takes patients. - Busy, fast-paced unit with up to 6 discharges per day and 6+ admits.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend for travelers; night weekend shifts are Friday/Saturday/Sunday. - Call or standby could happen if census was low, but not often.
Floating Requirements: - Travelers are typically the first to float and could be floated anywhere in the hospital, including ICU and Stepdown; they will only be given patients within their skillset.

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
