Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read strips and perform EKGs if PCTs are unavailable.
Special Requests: Block scheduling can be accommodated if unit needs are met.
Unit Details: Cardiac telemetry population includes post heart cath patients with TR Bands, CHF, COPD, post pacers (no external pacers), medical management patients or those waiting for CABG consult, and arrhythmias. Only Heparin is titrated routinely; occasionally Lasix or Bumex may be titrated. Cardizem and Amiodarone are not titrated. Monitor techs staff the central monitor station for the North Tower. PCT support assists with ADLs, FSBS, and EKGs when able. Occasional high-flow oxygen in certain rooms; BiPAP and CPAP are used for supportive therapy only, and patients dependent on continuous BiPAP or CPAP are typically transferred to a higher-acuity unit. Night charge takes a patient assignment; travelers may be allowed to work charge if comfortable. Fast-paced unit with approximately 8-12 admissions and 8-12 discharges per day; RNs complete their own admissions and discharges, with unit clerk support available.
Shift & Scheduling: Self-scheduling is allowed. Every other weekend. Night weekend shifts are Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon. Holiday coverage may be required based on unit needs. Call or standby could occur if census is low, but this is very rare and would be included in the contract.
Floating Requirements: Travelers are worked into the float rotation and could be floated anywhere in the hospital, including Stepdown and, rarely, ICU; they would only be given patients within their skillset.
