Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience.

• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Willis-Knighton Health System.

Additional Details:

OR RNs only: Application must include either an OR - Circulating or an OR - Scrub skills checklist, in addition to the OR - RN checklist.

Required Skills/Experience: - First-time travelers must have 2 years of permanent staff RN experience. - Wound management, JP drains, wound vacs, Hemodialysis Catheter care, Fistulas, PCA, pain management, cardiac rhythm interpretation (telemetry capabilities), non-titratable cardiac drips

Required Credentials: - Must pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival.

Special Requests: - Travelers must be separated from previous permanent staff employment for 1 year. - Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; must extend 1 week for every full week requested off. - Only 1 weekend of RTO may be requested per 13-week contract.

Unit Details: - Heavy focus on urology post-op patients including robotic radical and simple prostatectomies, partial cystectomies, partial nephrectomies, open radical nephrectomies, and nephroureterectomies. - Med/surg overflow includes sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, and PNA. - Post-op overflow may include total joints (knees, hips, shoulders) and GI/abdominal surgeries such as hemicolectomies and bowel resections. - RN ratio 1:5-6, nights 1:6. CNA support: 3 per shift when census allows; up to 1:10 patient ratio at full capacity. - RN draws CVL/PICC/Midline. IV/VAT team available 7a-3p for PICC placement. HUC/secretary support is available on day shift only. - Uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing. - Free parking in designated area.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend. - Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week. - No call. - Will work 2/3 holidays.

Floating Requirements: - Float to any Med/Surg area within the hospital. - Travelers float first.

7 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
