Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Travel experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Med-Surg/Telemetry experience with critical drips and trach care required. MS/Tele nurses should have a strong cardiac background.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Peritoneal dialysis preferred.
Unit Details: Pulmonary/observation telemetry unit caring for respiratory and medical adult and geriatric patients; trach patients are not ventilated. RNs titrate Heparin, Cardizem (up to 15mg/hr only), Lasix, Dopamine (low dose renal perfusion only), and Amiodarone. Monitor techs are available 24/7; charge RNs read strips, and RNs are expected to review strips each shift. Charge nurse has a modified patient assignment, usually 2 patients, and may be free charge if staffing allows. Travelers may be asked to fill the charge nurse role and can be cross-trained if willing/interested. Nurse aides are available 7A to 7P (1 to 10) and 7P to 7A (1 to 15). Equipment includes Cpap, Bipap, High Flow O2, trachs on trach collar or room air, IV pumps, sequential compression devices, pulse oximetry, and specialty beds; RT maintains vents and RNs perform trach care.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend on a set rotation, either weekends 1 and 3 or weekends 2 and 4. Holiday rotation with core staff; efforts are made to avoid assigning the same holidays worked the previous year, and preferences may be considered.
Special Requests: Block scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met; scheduling requests are taken into consideration.

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
