Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Telemetry Unit experience.

• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• No current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Willis-Knighton Health System.

Additional Details:

OR RNs only: Application must include either an OR - Circulating or an OR - Scrub skills checklist, in addition to the OR - RN checklist.

Required Skills/Experience: First-time travelers must have 2 years of permanent staff RN experience in acute care. Post-surgical recovery, PIV skills, central line care, TR bands, and non-titrating cardiac gtts experience required: Dobutamine, Cardizem, Heparin.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Cardiac rhythm interpretation preferred.

Required Credentials: Must pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival.

Special Requests: Travelers previously employed as permanent staff must be separated for 1 year. Up to 7 days of time off may be approved; must extend 1 week for every full week requested off. May request only 1 weekend of RTO per 13-week contract.

Unit Details: Patient population includes medical, surgical, telemetry, CHF, s/p Cath lab (no sheath removal), pacemakers, dialysis, and COPD. RN ratios: 1:5 days; 1:6 nights. Uses Alaris pumps and Pyxis. Charge nurse may or may not carry a patient assignment depending on staffing. Telemetry tech and admit nurse available; in-house phlebotomy, RT, and hospitalist support; IV/VAT team available 7a-3p; OT, PT, and ST available.

Shift & Scheduling: 3/2 Blue schedule. Will work 4 days one week and 3 days the next week; this is mandatory. Every other weekend. No call. Will work 2/3 holidays.

Floating Requirements: Floats to other Med-Surg or Tele units in rotation with staff.

7 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
