Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Cardiac Cath Lab experience.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: The RN must be able to circulate the listed case types. First-time travelers will be considered if they have experience with the services provided by the facility.

Special Requests: RTO requires manager approval.

Unit Details: Although the facility has no current trauma designation, it will act as a Level 3 trauma center during a trial period starting 1/1/2027 while collecting data to become a trauma center. Gyn cases include hysterectomy, BSO, tubal ligation, LAVH, TVH, sling procedures, ablation, myomectomy, and hysteroscopies. General cases include breasts/plastics, vascular, laparoscopic, general oncology, genitourinary (GU), gynecology (GYN), and robots (XI). Robotics cases include bariatric, hernia, gallbladder, and hysterectomy. Urology cases include cystos, TURPs, and bladder cancer/tumor resection. Orthopedic cases include total joint procedures for knees, hips, and shoulders, and fractures. Podiatry cases include foot and ankle procedures. Additional cases include plastics and cataract procedures. ENT cases include T&A, sinus surgeries, and neck dissection. Endoscopy includes colon, EGD, ERCP, bronchoscopy, and EBUS; the unit is very heavy with endoscopy cases. Total joints, endoscopy, and vascular cases make up a large portion of the surgeries. The unit performs an average of 25-45 cases per day. Equipment includes the da Vinci XI robotic system, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing.

Shift & Scheduling: Call is subject to minor changes. RN call is a maximum of every other weekend and 1 weeknight per week, based on department needs. Weekend call runs from Friday 2300 to Monday 0630; weeknight call runs from 2300-0630. A call room is available for use, and the response time is 30 minutes for RNs and techs. Holiday coverage is call only. Shift times are 0630 - 1500 and 0630-1900. Shifts will be two 12h days and two 8h days each week. Schedule cycle: Every 4-6 weeks.

Floating Requirements: During call, the OR RN could float to PACU on some nights to act as a second PACU RN; the RN would not be the primary RN and would not be expected to administer medications, perform charting, or handle other primary PACU duties.

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
