Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.

Required Skills/Experience: Chemotherapy experience required. Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias are required. Chemotherapy administration is required. Accessing and managing ports is required. Administration of blood and blood products is required. Central line blood draws are required. Central line/implanted line care is required. PICC line care is required. Starting and maintaining IVs are required. Experience with antibiotics is required. Experience with antiemetics is required. Foley catheter insertion and management are required. Experience with isolation precautions is required. Telemetry interpretation and monitoring are required. Medical-surgical experience required. Travel nurses must not administer chemotherapy unless certified.

Unit Details: Adult patient population. The unit provides BMT oncology care for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma and manages complications from blood cancers, including GVHD. The unit performs auto stem cell transplants. Chemotherapy administration is part of unit care.

Shift & Scheduling: BJC policy: Every other weekend required.

Floating Requirements: Floating is required throughout the Oncology department as needed, including to the unit with the greatest need per shift; the assignment will not always be specifically on 9800.
