Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• BSN completion preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Dysrhythmia interpretation and management is required. Feeding tube care and management is required. A medical-surgical nurse may be considered if they have oncology patient experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Oncology experience is preferred.

Required Credentials: RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe. No medical marijuana cards accepted.

Special Requests: Orientation parking costs $15 out of pocket; Barnes does not validate or reimburse the charge. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Unit Details: Adult patient population. Medical oncology patients include solid tumors of the lung, breast, and pancreas, as well as BMT patients with leukemia and bone conditions. Average patient stay is 3-5 days. Unit procedures include IV starts, tracheostomy care, accessing ports and central lines, and post-treatment care following chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Travelers may administer chemotherapy only if certified, and chemotherapy administration/infusion experience is not required. Travelers do not perform stem cell transplantation. BMT care is assigned to travelers only if they have relevant experience. The unit does not use ventilators. BMT patient ratio is 1:3 on all shifts. CAD pumps are used.

Shift & Scheduling: BJC policy: Every other weekend required. Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. No call. No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract.

Floating Requirements: Floating is within scope and within the service line to meet facility needs.
