Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Georgia license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: Basic cardiac rhythm required; traveler must pass an EKG competency exam.

Preferred Credentials: Medical-surgical certification preferred.

Unit Details: Adult med-surg/telemetry population includes acute and chronic disease, post-op surgeries, and common comorbidities including diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and electrolyte imbalances. Expected skills/procedures include trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, insulin drips, heparin drips, heart-rate titratable drips (not blood pressure), IV insertion and care, central line management, wound care, post-op monitoring, and cardiac monitoring/telemetry interpretation. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis med dispensing, Phillips monitors, VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, portable vital sign monitors (Dynamapp), bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, external fixators, chest tubes, JP drains, Hemovac drains, Glucommander, PCA pain management, and suction machines. CNA support available; unit secretary on unit 7a-11p and housewide call secretary 11p-7a; charge nurse may have patients. Most labs are collected by phlebotomy; nurses draw from CVLs. No IV team; PICC team available. Discharge nurses and a resource team are available; telemetry is monitored by a Central Telemetry Unit; RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage available 24/7. LPN ratio 1:4-6; CNA staffing 2-3 per shift.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend rotation: 6 shifts on a 6 week schedule (6 out of 12 shifts). Travelers will work 75% of holidays. On-call: none.

Floating Requirements: Float to all adult med-surg/telemetry units in house.

7 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

Proof of identification required

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• RN-BC (Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse) or the alternative certification CMSRN
