Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 18 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 months worked in the last 12 months.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

• Candidates must have a Georgia license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed.

Additional Details:
Required Credentials: - Basic cardiac rhythm required; traveler must pass an EKG competency exam.
Unit Details: - Patient population includes acute and chronic disease, post-op surgeries, and common med-surg comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and electrolyte imbalances. - Care includes trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, and drips titrated for heart rate but not blood pressure. - Additional clinical responsibilities include IV insertion and care, central line management, wound care, post-op monitoring, and cardiac monitoring/telemetry interpretation. - CNA support assists with vital signs, glucose checks, baths, feeding, ambulating patients, assisting with turning patients, hourly rounding, transporting patients as needed, and obtaining blood from the blood bank. - Unit secretary on unit 7a-11p; housewide call secretary 11p-7a. - Charge nurse may have patients. - Most units are lab-collect phlebotomy; nurses draw from CVLs. - No IV team; PICC team available. - Discharge nurses available; resource team floats to all units. - RT, hospitalist, and intensivist available 24/7. - Central telemetry unit. - Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, Phillips monitors, VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, portable vital signs monitors (Dynamapp), bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, external fixators, chest tubes, JP drains, Hemovac drains, glucommander, PCA pain management, and suction machines.
Shift & Scheduling: - Weekend rotation: 6 shifts on a 6-week schedule (6 out of 12 shifts). - Travelers will work 75% of holidays. - No call.
Floating Requirements: - Float to all adult med surg/telemetry units in house.
7 days maximum time off
1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
Proof of identification required
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• CMSRN (Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse) or the alternative certification RN-BC
